But an 800mm (31.5 inches) high front from IKEA won't fit there either, right?
Otherwise, I find HomeConnect quite OK. I usually run the machine when the photovoltaic system generates enough electricity. But yes, it’s a gimmick (though many people do it – don’t they?)
P.S. Based on calculations, I hope to manage with around 1000€ for household electricity, hot water, and heating for about 135m² (1453 square feet) of living space across two residential units (Passive House with ground-source heat pump + controlled mechanical ventilation + photovoltaic system) 😉
Of course, I won’t change the machine now; I’ll just solve the “problem” since I was caught a bit off guard regarding the IKEA / Siemens issue, which I wasn’t aware of before.
But we’re drifting lightly off-topic... :p

Ok, I thought there might still be something really obvious... If it’s intentional tinkering, I can understand that.
Leave a few centimeters (inches) above the countertop and cover it later, also shift the front panel so that there is an overhang at the top. Then it should work with that one as well.
Try searching on YouTube for "Ikea dishwasher doesn’t fit – explanation for conversion of fully integrated dishwashers" by ersatzteilshopTV. It’s explained there, and I hope I don’t get banned now 😱

Yes, the property itself doesn't really require much. Maybe it can save a maximum of one euro, probably less (it doesn't need 3 kWh per cycle, does it?). My property only runs like this every two days in my single-person household. It makes more sense elsewhere (my new car (MX30) is ordered, and the wallbox with priority switching is definitely more worthwhile).
It's truly amazing what family means.
I also have a 45m² (480ft²) lot in my condominium.
When I lived alone, I had trouble filling it up before things got smelly.
Now I could do two loads of laundry every day. And that's despite only having one and a half more people living here. Well, plus the little creatures, but their dishes are minimal and usually washed by hand.
