Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Really great pictures.
It was such a long struggle to get the pictures small enough somehow. I’ve just noticed that I’ll have to do it again... I hope you can still see something reasonably well.
We have about 150 sqm (1,615 sq ft) plus 50 sqm (538 sq ft) above the garage, no basement, no attic, and around 1,200 sqm (0.3 acres) of land (mostly still a mud wasteland...).
Unfortunately, I’ve lost track of the construction costs a bit. The estimate was €390,000 (without the land at €55,000) and without own labor. We did a lot ourselves and treated ourselves occasionally. Over the holidays, I’ll have to add up my invoices.

We have about 150sqm (1600 sq ft) plus 50sqm (540 sq ft) above the garage, no basement, no attic, and around 1200sqm (13,000 sq ft) of land (mostly still a muddy wasteland...).
Unfortunately, I lost track of the construction costs a bit. The estimate was €390,000 without the plot (€55,000), without own labor. We did a lot ourselves but also treated ourselves here and there. Over the holidays, I need to add up my invoices.

It looks interesting, but I can’t quite picture it as a whole; something is missing for me to imagine it in "3D", especially the mentioned garage!
Although I use Lightroom for my photo collection, sometimes I quickly use Paint (some photos I find faster in the file system, especially older ones) just to resize: open, select resize, 30%, and 8MB JPG images become handy 500k, which can be uploaded here as well (30% means 0.3x0.3 = 0.09, only 9% of the pixels, but that is perfectly fine here).

I need to add it all up first.

In two weeks, the lower hallway and the guest bathroom will be color plastered. Then we will be finished inside.

New white house with dark base, scaffolding on the right, street scene at dusk.

I actually don’t have a better picture. I have countless photos of holes, cables, and pipes, but I’m missing a complete view like this. I’ll have to catch up on that tomorrow.
I tried using Paint, but this new laptop is driving me crazy. I can’t find that function anymore...

Try using Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It’s simple and fast.

Off-topic: The advertising is really annoying. Of course, it is necessary, but nowadays I sometimes can’t even read the threads because the banner just won’t go away and I can’t close it. Especially frustrating is the company with the magenta color.
