Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Plaster or textured wallpaper with latex paint. Wood sealed with synthetic resin. Breathable plaster with controlled residential ventilation. There are many alternatives.

For those who like it (and there are definitely visually appealing stones)...

But to consider it as the standard is a case of "we've always done it this way."

I love these floor tiles [emoji4]
What kind of grout did you use? Dark?
Are you happy with it?

We also have stools [emoji6]

The wall tiles are not white!

The grout color is light gray. We are satisfied, even though we chose everything during the "I don’t care, just pick something" phase.

That’s right, the wall tiles are not white. They are something from Villeroy & Boch with a width of 60cm (24 inches). To me, it doesn’t make much sense to add several height changes in such a small room. In the upper bathroom, partly because of the sloped ceiling, we didn’t tile all the way up to the ceiling. There, Venis Ferroker and Ruggine Platino (wall) are installed, with a concrete-look plaster technique applied above on the wall. I can take pictures tomorrow if anyone is interested.

It’s great that you follow your own path. Whether you choose to tile all the way up to the ceiling today or tile as little as possible, you are not just anybody—you are you. I quite like the wall tiles; the floor tiles wouldn’t be my choice. The light gray grout color suits well. The floor-to-ceiling tiling doesn’t bother me here either. Karsten
