Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

It will be the same for us. The start was also on 01.10. and the planned move-in is at the end of May. There was about a four-week break during the holidays. It’s possible if the general contractor coordinates the trades properly and the homeowners make selections promptly.

Our general contractor told us at the start that he can build a turnkey house in about seven months—if the homeowners cooperate.

If the site doesn’t cause any issues, things can move fast. It took us 11 months:
5 months net until the top edge of the foundation slab
2 months weather-related pause during winter
4 months until moving in.

Carports are open – you can count the cars to see if Kevin is home alone. Valuable information for burglars, easily spotted while passing by. The police recommend: build with a gate.
So, I still need to get a dummy car. I’ll ask my wife! I was planning to get a third car anyway.

What attracts burglars more: both at home (went on vacation) or both away?

... but I believe the pros and cons of a carport vs. a garage are self-explanatory and well known to all prospective homeowners.

If you ask that way: the most important factor is that the situation remains unchanged for days.
