It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

At first, I didn’t even realize from the photo that those were tiles. To me, it looked like our floor when only the underfloor insulation was installed. That was also white and had more or less black spots in it.

Tastes vary.

I definitely think it’s good to see something different than oak-look floorboards or concrete-look tiles, although we have the latter ourselves. So it’s perfectly fine to be bold and step outside the usual...

You’re reacting just like my husband . The sample tiles will arrive tomorrow, hopefully they will convince him then .
Originally, a polished screed (concrete look) was planned. Then concrete-look tiles (@Egberto ), and now the terrazzo style. However, oak parquet will be installed in the living room and upstairs.

It is definitely low-maintenance; you probably won’t see every little crumb on it...
