Hello everyone,
We received a great offer for Villeroy & Boch tiles at half price. The reason is that the batch does not exactly match the color of the regularly produced tiles and is therefore sold as a secondary color of first quality.
We need about 62 sqm plus waste and reserve, so at least 70 sqm (possibly a bit more since we won’t be able to reorder). That’s not a problem. We can get as many tiles as we want from this batch.
We are currently at the shell construction stage. The carpenter will start next week. This means we probably won’t need the tiles before May or later.
Can we store the tiles in the garage until then? The garage is also still under shell construction. It is missing the door, windows, and waterproofing of the flat roof.
Will the tiles be in the way? Are there any risks involved with storing them under these conditions?
What would you do?
22.50 €/sqm (about $24 per sq ft) for the desired Villeroy & Boch tile is definitely a strong price.
Good luck, milkie

Doc.Schnaggls18 Dec 2014 14:40Hello,
have a look at the "Tokame" series from Steuler (based in Mühlacker - Baden-Württemberg). They offer floor tiles (50cm x 50cm (20 inches x 20 inches)) in four different shades, including the colors "Sand" and "Natural."
Best regards,
Dirk

Hello everyone,
before starting a new thread, I’d like to ask again about tiles:
We have now purchased tiles for the family bathroom and received a quote for tiles on the ground floor (hallway, WC, and utility room). The tiles for the ground floor are R10 and have a slightly textured surface.
Now we are wondering: can we also use these R10 tiles in the shower (children’s) bathroom? Including on the walls (especially in the shower)? Or is that not ideal in terms of cleaning?
Does anyone have experience with this?
Sunny regards

Yes.
We have very rough and slip-resistant tiles on the floor.
They are indeed very slip-resistant, but in hindsight, regular tiles would have been fine as well. I specifically asked the tile specialist about possible issues with cleaning, and she said there wouldn’t be any. Well, lint tends to get caught in the texture, and after 5 months we have completely worn down our squeegee because of the rough surface, which we use to remove water after showering.
So, it works, but next time I would prefer regular tiles, especially on the wall (why is that, by the way??? Isn’t the same tile available in a “regular” finish, or is it discontinued?).
