Hello! I recently removed all the tiles in my bathroom because I didn’t like them anymore. Now, there are no tiles on the walls or floor. Can I leave the floor and walls without tiles, or is that not allowed in a bathroom? Is there any other type of surface I could use instead of tiles?

Hello. I have a vinyl floor in my bathroom. It’s quite comfortable and easy to dry mop. In the shower enclosure, there should be some kind of covering as well—there are surely good options other than tiles. I don’t think a bare wall is the best choice. Best regards

Hello! Honestly, I can’t think of many more alternatives than those already mentioned... I find tiles the most practical and attractive option, but of course, that’s a matter of personal taste. So if you prefer it without tiles, I would also suggest vinyl flooring and paint on the walls.

Hello everyone! I’m going to go with the vinyl flooring. And the small tiles in the shower are also a good idea; I’ll see whether I combine them or use them separately... but I’m a bit concerned about the wall paint, whether the bathroom might be too humid for it. I’ll start a separate thread about that, maybe others know more. Thanks for the kind replies so far!

Hi,
you really can’t leave it completely bare—just imagine if something falls and breaks. You’ll never get the stains out again. Did you know you can also install laminate flooring in the bathroom? It looks very elegant and is especially comfortable underfoot.

I once saw a great flooring that looked like very small stones. The entire surface was poured, resulting in a smooth finish. I can’t tell you more, but if you ask at a hardware store or a flooring specialist, they will surely be able to give you more information.
