Hello everyone,
we would actually prefer to use only a few tiles in our bathroom and instead paint most of the walls with water-resistant paint. Has anyone had experience with this? And how does it compare cost-wise?
We have two young children, so the bathroom should be quite durable.
Thank you in advance,
Best regards, Roni

In our guest bathroom, we only have tiles in the shower and on the floor. The rest of the walls are plastered but not painted with water-resistant paint. I believe this is not ideal for a bathroom.

I once had a bathroom in a rented apartment without tiles. There was vinyl on the floor and on the walls (up to a certain height).

It was fine.

Good morning, this is also how I would imagine my bathroom. Has anyone gained any experience with this so far? Thanks, best regards

We have 60cm (24 inches) above the top edge of the bathtub in the tub area (also suitable for small children). My advice: use 90cm (36 inches) of tiles above the top edge of the bathtub.

The shower should be tiled up to the ceiling.

In the area around the washbasin and toilet, 60-80cm (24-32 inches) to the sides and up to 20cm (8 inches) above the flush button are sufficient. Install a mirror or similar flush with the washbasin.
