Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Well, usually you don’t just stand there while they go down. I press the button and the thing goes down on its own – in the meantime, I can already be doing something else. Compared directly, it’s slower electrically than if I let the blinds drop manually on the strap. But if I compare: pressing once or lowering them by hand, the electric option is faster.

From a certain size, our window installer always recommended electric operation, and even at my parents’ place, who originally had a large window with manual blinds on a strap, the window was equipped with electric blinds during the renovation.
Then a question: so they close completely and you can’t see anything at all, right?
If I want some light, so I don’t lower them fully, would I have to stand awkwardly next to them even if they’re electric?

If they are equipped with electric and radio motors, you don’t need to go there yourself, and you also avoid the problem of them being fully open or fully closed.

If I want some light, so I don’t close them all the way, do I end up standing awkwardly in front of them, even if they’re electric?

There are plenty of solutions for that.

You will never reach a complete agreement with the people present here anyway, so why do you keep trying?

At least, it was not my intention to persuade anyone to anything. I just mentioned that there are many options available. I don’t see any attempt to change an opinion here.

You’ll never be 100% in agreement with everyone, even in a pub. That’s no reason not to have a conversation.
