Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Alright, I'll let you believe that [emoji51]. However, it would probably be best to actually get rid of it from the yard and use one of the alternatives.

And work on the walls starts on Monday. Possibly Tuesday instead, if it stays this cold.

To what extent do you expect that a delay due to cold weather will only last a single day?

My lesson learned: even if you are building with an architect and single contracting, don’t hire companies the architect hasn’t worked with before.

Isn’t that just common sense?

Last week, the situation was that Monday would be cold and from Tuesday warmer. Today, I met with the structural builder at the construction site. The first bricks have been delivered, and if it gets warmer tomorrow, work will start. Today would only have been possible if the weather forecast had been wrong. If it stays cold for longer, it will just take more time. Of course.

Temporary construction power did not arrive today, of course – unfortunately, on Friday the civil engineer did not have approval from the authority to break up the asphalt...

Well, we’ll see. The foundation slab is scheduled to be poured tomorrow.

And exactly as you say, construction hasn’t even really started yet. On the other hand, if we’ve already dealt with all the stress of the initial building phase, the remaining year should be much more relaxed. Please don’t take away that naive hope from me!

You’re toughened up now, so the rest will be easier.

Arifas, there’s no point in building with mortar when it’s freezing. It’ll work out. It can’t take much longer. Hopefully, the garden wall can start soon. The little daughter is already crying out for her sandbox.

Good luck, Haydee! A sandbox is a wonderful thing! Our kids even sometimes sit in it during winter wearing snowsuits.
