Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The baseboards still need to be installed, but we will wait until autumn for that. 🙂
@ypg Thanks.
This is the laundry chute.

Cool. We don’t need something like that. But if you had told me it was a laundry basket or another kind of container, I definitely would have added it to my shopping list 🙂

Really? Interesting. What does the inside look like and what is the diameter? You often hear concerns that one of the 17 kids might fall in there... although... they might just come out the bottom then.

... or one of the 25 pets, like cats. They might be able to go through it about seven times each, maybe more.

It is actually a laundry bin.
I only made some modifications. I cut out the bottom. The bin was glued to the PVC sewer pipe using spacers.
From the section of the removed bottom, I cut out a ring which I glued to the top and sealed with silicone.
The silicone seams are not yet visible in the pictures.

I believe the PVC sewer pipe has an outer diameter of 315mm (12.4 inches) and the bin has an inner diameter of 330mm (13 inches).

This is how it looked before 🙂

Thank goodness. I was starting to think it was an outdoor toilet.
