It sounds a bit like some don’t care at all about messing up a rental apartment... I have always applied the same standards—or actually, I was even more careful, because you tend to respect someone else’s property even more, while you have full control over your own.

It kind of sounds like some people don’t mind their rental apartment getting dirty... I have always applied the same standards—or rather was even more careful, because you tend to respect someone else’s property more, while you can decide for yourself when it’s your own. I basically agree with that. But maybe the "new and expensive" factor of a new build plays a role?
Maybe some people just don’t want raclette in their own four walls, but are happy to be invited? :-)
I believe this is a typical effect during the first few years in a newly built home, similar to how every nail still hurts at first... eventually, living in it just becomes completely normal. 😉
Happy New Year again.
Since Monday, my father and I have been working on it, and so far it’s going quite well... There was a slight setback above the island where the plumber needs to adjust the pipes; I hope he can manage that this week.
Two main frameworks are already hanging, and for one we still need to install some hangers around the outside.
Cutting open the ceiling was quite a task, but once we made the first cut, it was forgotten.
Next week, the perimeter will be sealed on all of them, and the LEDs will be installed. Then we’ll close everything up by the end of the week. I hope everything will be ready to move in again in 15 days.
But I think it will be worth it and look great.
A diameter of 1.2m (4 feet) is really quite large.
