Over the past two weeks, I have been digging through half the garden armed with a shovel and wheelbarrow, moving tons of soil, gravel concrete, and concrete. A few stones and concrete steps were involved as well. Both my wife and I are very satisfied with the result.
The stones (dolomite) were a lucky coincidence. Our local gravel and concrete supplier happened to have a pallet of these stones on the truck when they delivered a big bag of concrete to us. I saw them, fell in love, and bought them the same day. They arrived the next day.
Tomorrow, the construction of the wooden terrace begins. I still have one week of vacation left, and it should be finished by then.
