A lot of land advice from me – and even more so at the quality level of @Escroda – is only possible when the advisor can also consider other basic factors. From a layperson’s perspective, the topographical challenges here are not usually that underestimated. When you then add a floating reference point for elevation in a "development area like a military training ground," a narrow focus "only on the affected plot" isn’t enough. But of course, everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to share the facts that allow for a more qualified discussion than just "nice or not nice." Everyone is the architect of their own fortune and, in extreme cases, can simply leave the other seventeen major mistakes of a completely poor plan in place, just because they noticed the lack of a better idea at only one single point. Remember how often we see this here: a maze full of carefully engineered construction defects, where the original poster just signed up to ask whether the pantry sliding door should run in front of, inside, or behind the wall.

I agree with you on that. However, whether this maze belongs on the “Didn’t See That in the Rush” street or on the “Scandalous Floorplan” street is not necessarily relevant.

As I already mentioned, there are cases where the very detailed aspects can be crucial for the discussion. But I don’t consider that the norm here.
It also makes a difference whether the question concerns choosing a plot of land or discussing a floorplan/project presentation with a fixed plot.
That was the starting point for @Pinkiponk, as far as I understood.

What I mean is, if it were a requirement to disclose the street and location for a floorplan discussion, this subforum would presumably be much emptier.

Of course, access should not be conditional on such information. But there are two things every questioner should keep in mind: 1. The bigger challenges are often those they haven’t yet recognized as a layperson; 2. If giving qualified advice creates disproportionate effort for those helping, they will quickly move on without giving an answer.
