I also really like the "carpet" in the entrance area and am considering putting the same on the platform, aka the entrance. Where did you get it from and how thick is it?Hi, it’s from a local wallpaper and carpet store. It’s sold by the meter, with a fully rubberized backing, and comes in widths of 1 and 2 meters (this one is 2 meters (6.5 feet) “deep,” cut down to the right size of about 150cm (59 inches)). I estimate the thickness at around 6 to 7mm (vinyl plus underlay for sound insulation is just under 6mm (0.24 inches) combined). I think it costs around 40-50€ per meter. I’d have to dig up the receipt if you want more exact details.A picture of my entrance area will be available in the next few days when it’s completely finished. @ypg: Maybe also of the finished bathroom then 😎

Let's see how the color changes.
We actually liked the original color better before oiling 🙂. The wood will naturally weather to a grayish tone. The original color will never return. Either oil once in the spring or just let it turn gray.

@Tolentino
I was hoping for some cloudy pictures of your construction site,
too bad 😉Tolentino schrieb:
I’ll take some photos at the end of the week, the exterior plaster should be finished by then.
Right now, I’m a bit overwhelmed. Installing the screed insulation myself is more complex than expected and is wearing me out a little.As promised, but without any homemade clouds. My house is big enough: The first night in the new house is just beginning 😱. Still very much a construction site, no ceiling lights yet (only a floor lamp), no sanitary facilities (but the portable toilet is still outside 🤨). If everything goes well, I’ll have electricity tomorrow and a finished bathroom next week. Until then, I have to wash and shower at the office. On the bright side, I’m now always the first person on the construction site 😀
To get internet access, I first had to find a working power outlet in the technical room. Fortunately, the utility provider was already here today (electricity), and the photovoltaic system was successfully commissioned. The controlled ventilation system is running too, but it’s pointless since the ductwork (supply and exhaust) is not connected to the outside yet.

For us, it will (hopefully soon!) be no different, since we will also be moving into a construction site. For me, that even has a certain charm... at least for a while...
