Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

@R.Hotzenplotz IF the screed is truly fully finished on Monday, then the kitchen installer can go there on Thursday to take measurements.
If they start with the upper floor on Monday and only do the ground floor on Tuesday, I think Thursday might be too soon to walk on it. For us, it was 3 days, and we just had a heatwave outside.
Or maybe you have a fast-setting screed and are allowed to go on it earlier, I don’t know.

I have already canceled the appointment and postponed it to Friday. Nothing surprises me anymore. With multiple trades involved, the appointments are postponed more often than they are met. Strangely, I don’t have this problem with my own trades.

But whatever, it is what it is now. I hope the screed will actually be done on Monday. At first they said all the workers were celebrating Eid (first delay), and then suddenly they were all sick. Probably ate from the same Eid meal. Anyone who believes that...

Today, I went through the house again with the interior designer. He asked me where the power connection for the dishwasher is!!

Underfloor heating pipe installation: white pipes in loops, red cable ties, green labels.

The electrician says it was there and that the insulation was simply laid over it. He wants to send me photos tomorrow. Honestly, I don’t see any power connection here. I also don’t know if it can be fixed once the screed is poured on top. Even now, trying to access it from below would be extremely messy!

Huh? The electrical connection is clearly visible! Isn't that the black cable wrapped around the water pipes?

I’m not very familiar with new kitchens, as mine is already 60 years old, but isn’t the power connection for the dishwasher usually on the wall and called an electrical outlet?

I assume the dishwasher and the sink are intended to be installed in the island, which is why the water connections are located in the middle of the room.

So for me, the black cable wrapped around the water connections is an electrical cable.
