It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Yes, you really enriched this thread: even though it might be common in the Vulkaneifel region to build a Frisian house using pumice, it’s still quite unique in this discussion. Especially since it will be clad with facing bricks later, it’s important to preserve at least a picture of it for posterity. And it’s best to apply the brick cladding only after the local villagers have had a chance to walk by and see that regional materials were actually used.

Looks good. But why add the brick cladding later – so right now you have an uninsulated, non-tight house?

Facing bricks do not provide insulation…

Oh, come on. But isn’t there insulation between the stone and the facing brick?

Facing bricks do not need insulation, pumice is both a building and insulating material in one.

My guess would be that the statement by @11ant meant that pumice blocks, like Poroton, serve both functions.
