@-XIII- I’m repeating myself again here: Amazing view! Where is south for you?Looking straight ahead, it is exactly at the front right corner of the house. The terrace will also be located on the right side of the house.

Reudnitzer7 Dec 2019 22:54I might not exactly fit into this forum with our fixer-upper, but to encourage those who have also taken on a bottomless pit of a project, here’s a small before-and-after impression. More than twenty years ago, we moved in as tenants. By now, at least the exterior looks quite nice, but the house is still far from being fully renovated.

Tell us more, why?

Reudnitzer7 Dec 2019 23:57Why hasn’t the full renovation been done yet?
Well, we were living in a somewhat functional apartment, the upper floor was rented out, and we bought the tenants along with it, so there was no urgent pressure to renovate.
After the house was paid off, the money was gone for the time being.
The carpenter we trust also doesn’t have unlimited time for our special requests.
Overall, we are a bit slow when it comes to making decisions.
A brief story about the front door: it was worn out. Due to its dimensions and the historic preservation requirements (and because we didn’t want a standard door anyway), a typical store-bought door was not an option. That’s why it was painstakingly reconstructed by the carpenter we trust. We managed quite well for six weeks without a front door, even in the city. The result was convincing, but then the money ran out again...
