I don’t want to overwhelm you with photos, but the renovation of just one children’s room, which I now know measures a huge 5.5 by 6 Saxon ells—so barely 9 square meters (97 square feet)—took over two years. In the meantime, it was nicknamed "sandbox."
Since the floorboards were also quite worn out, we installed historic parquet flooring that had been stacked in the living room for five years, just waiting to be used.
Oh, and there was also a completely cluttered garden, overgrown with blackberry bushes, where 16 semi-feral cats lived.
