Our house was deliberately built with limited storage and floor space. Since then, we buy much less, and our desire to own things is fairly disciplined. What we need is available here in the countryside. Anything beyond that is a luxury, which we select carefully and without hurry, so it doesn’t require delivery service.
Some consumables, however, are exceptionally cheap when delivered – salt for the descaler, firelighters, screws, and fittings, for example. Other items are very specialized and hard to find, like paint for the old Holder. In those cases, I also shop by mail order (but not from Amazon, as I don’t like them). This has nothing to do with “desire to own” or luxury. According to that logic, socks would be luxury and rare fish everyday necessities.

Rare fish that would be found everywhere wouldn’t really be rare. I find this example amusing; I’ve never thought about buying a rare fish. It’s certainly a nice hobby.

No, socks are only available when a supermarket or discount store has a special promotion.
Here, we have many things, including some rare fish, but nothing related to clothing or food delivery services. Even the district town is poorly equipped for people aged between 10 and 80. So, ordering online it is.
And I hate shopping. There is nothing relaxing about it—except maybe in the bookstore or the garden center. The rest is torture.

Rare fish that are said to be everywhere wouldn’t really be rare. I find the example amusing; I’ve never thought about buying a rare fish. It must be an interesting hobby. This immediately reminds me of Gerhard Polt with "Meneater" and the extinct giant monitor lizard 😀 wonderful……

No! I’d rather share a picture of a house:

I agree and want to show a new resident of the house who hasn’t found his spot yet, because he surprises me every time I catch him out of the corner of my eye 🤨 <br />
