Although we are still miles away from even being able to think about decorating, I saved a few keepsakes while tearing down the suspended ceiling (which was heartbreaking—I was reminded of @i_b_n_a_n’s thread...).
I found it interesting that back in 1961 in Stuttgart, only someone who was a doctor or a childless couple between 35 and 50 could get an apartment, where the man had to be a carpenter and the woman had to do cleaning work... nothing has changed.

Off-topic discussions keep forums alive and are necessary. But not if I have to scroll through ten pages just to maybe find a nice house picture.

pagoni202017 Nov 2021 17:12Condition from 5 days ago; meanwhile the protective foil is gone and the first boxes are unpacked... still a construction site, though. Not suitable at all with children. Upstairs, it’s already warm :-). Supposedly all walls will be painted by Friday evening, then we’ll stain the exterior wood over the weekend and finally set up some furniture.

pagoni202017 Nov 2021 18:16The two gallery windows will now be completely replaced again. One was too large, then cut too small, and on the third attempt the color of the mullion was wrong... Oh, and there were actually too many windows anyway... The other one had a cracked pane... but that’s just a side note in a longer drama 😀 ... you can’t handle it without humor... for a while, it was gone though.
