Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I really like it, especially because it is not strictly symmetrical and lacks the typical gray recesses.

We have now been living here for almost 2.5 years. The forum was especially helpful to me with fundamental questions about financing. Thanks again!

Great. Really great!! What type of plaster grain is that, and is there a detailed plan for the verge construction? We are currently working on exactly these questions

What do you mean by that? The kW rating of a fireplace only indicates how much you could burn, not what you have to! You can also put just a few logs into a fireplace rated at 8.7 kW (9.3 hp): small fire and short burn time = little heat.

If the chimney inspector has approved it (for example, our preliminary building inspection approval states 7-8 kW (9.4-10.7 hp)), then you can definitely make use of that capacity. A larger fireplace always looks better than one that is too small. (My opinion) How little you actually burn is fortunately up to you.

Well, it’s really not very practical to fuel it too lightly for a proper burn.

We have a KfW55 standard house with a heating load of about 7.4 kW (9.9 hp). Our wood stove has a power output of 12 kW (16 hp), and I’m not sitting in front of it in swim shorts. It all depends on how it is operated.

At my parents’ house, they decided to save money and didn’t go for a larger stove. We didn’t make that choice and are glad about it. There is nothing more enjoyable than watching the flames.

Great glass facade, great house.
I would also be interested to see what the floor plan would look like for a fairly narrow house.
From the outside, really impressive.

We are making progress here as well. Our tile setters and painters have just started work.

Renovation room: left gray brick wall, visible electrical installations, window on the right.

Gray rectangular floor tiles in an empty room, door leading outside visible

Unfinished interior with white walls, gray tiles, hanging cables, and open door frames.

Today, our new aquarium for our turtle and fish arrived.
Large glass display counter on gray base in construction area; construction tools next to it.
