Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I had asked the site manager if the unevenness in the concrete floor was within the specified tolerance limits
From what you described, I had imagined sloping surfaces or slight dips, but at least reasonably smooth on the surface.
Here, it actually looks like scar tissue, as if the concrete mix had clumped up quite a bit :-(

Yes, that looks bad. Under the bitumen membranes, it looks even worse in some areas.

If I’m unlucky, they might also close off the remaining open sections tomorrow before the inspector arrives.

I’m curious how the inspector will react and whether this will lead to a construction halt.

The question I have is why they are applying a waterproof membrane at all. This is usually only used for building components in contact with the ground (typically in the basement, or if there is no basement, on the ground floor), but since you have a basement underneath, there shouldn’t be any need for a waterproof membrane there.

Otherwise, this doesn’t look particularly serious to me. It’s just the point where the scraper is lifting the protective sheet. You see this kind of thing quite often, so I don’t find it especially concerning. I’m curious to see what the inspector will say.

Where the bitumen sheets are currently located is the area without a basement. We only have a partial basement.

The screed was installed in our house yesterday. Tomorrow, we are allowed to enter for the first time, and then it will need to be ventilated. I already managed to catch a quick glimpse through the hole in the door.

So now there is enough time to start setting up the play area for the children.

Empty hallway on a construction site: raw concrete floor, unfinished walls; bright light at the end.

Car trunk fully loaded with boxes, bags of concrete, and buckets.

Oh, how I envy you all for your flat and even plots of land...
