Exactly, wooden sliding windows for those who aren’t into masochism. Plastic was not an option for a timber house. The wooden facade will remain natural and is allowed to weather.
Currently, the insulation (blown-in cellulose) is being installed. It’s quite funny when the stuff comes back out somewhere, but the guys can also clean up. Here’s a hole where the cellulose is blown into:

Also, we received the glass today… unfortunately, the exterior window frames are still missing. We’re not quite sure what to do with the glass at the construction site right now:

We’ll see… The large fixed window in the dormer for the air space was supposed to be installed this week (because the crane will be removed on Monday), but it can’t be done without the frames. I’m curious how this will proceed.
And one more thing I don’t want to withhold from you: our temporary front door!
A rare beauty:

Well, tastes change over time, but honestly: who ever bought something so ugly???
It definitely won’t get stolen!

A surprisingly attractive example:

Well, tastes change over time, but honestly: who would ever buy something this ugly???
I’m sure it won’t get stolen! Oh, it just needs a fresh coat of paint! Of course, pink with light green stripes.

We are making progress again.
The rainwater cistern (5000 l) has been installed.

The scaffolding has been erected.

The ceiling along with the reinforcement has been laid.

Then the guys with the rubber boots and the large pump showed up again. This time, photos taken from both neighbors’ perspectives.
