Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I also really like earth tones, and probably, as @Bookstar already mentioned, they are more timeless and still stylish even in 20 years. The question with earth tones is: do darker or lighter floors go better with them? Because there should be a color contrast between the wall and the floor to make it look better, or maybe not?

I also like the wall color that @Steffi33 chose in the bathroom photo thread.

They don't. These dark slate bathrooms are really out of style. It’s better to choose earth tones and perhaps pastels as well; they are timeless and create a cozy atmosphere.

It’s good that most people leave behind such absolute aesthetic demands after finishing school. Otherwise, many discussions would probably be unnecessarily exhausting.

I was actually planning to get dark ones .... I think they look best against white walls ..... are there differences among dark tiles, especially regarding dirt?

In our apartment, we also have the Mirage Glocal tiles in 60x120cm (24x48 inches) throughout the living area, hallway, and bathrooms, in the color Classic GC 05. They are completely resistant—dust is hardly visible, and we occasionally mop with a splash of all-purpose cleaner in the water. It’s all very low maintenance.
However, on darker tiles, you can really see every speck of dust, hair, and lint... For that reason, I would strongly advise against using them in the bathroom.

I didn’t mean to offend you with your slate bathroom, I’m sorry.

You don’t need to explain to me what you want or wanted. Fortunately, that is quite clear from you.

If you scroll back a few pages, you can see what my bathroom currently looks like.
