Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

What is outside, what is inside – I don’t like having to distinguish every time,

After finishing my terrace, I started working on redesigning the now somewhat outdated entrance area. The old granite-covered entrance platform was updated with a modern surface, and the concrete paving slabs from the 1960s were replaced by a natural wooden entrance area. It is bordered by a flower bed full of blooming plants-

I am also considering building a wooden deck all around the house (but also up to the entrance height). Thanks for the inspiration on how it could look.

I have stayed away from wood – but in my opinion, there is no reason to avoid WPC (wood-plastic composite). Just thinking about it: the grilling deck is now over 10 years old and, after a quick scrub with a brush and plain water (no chemicals or anything), it still looks like new every time.

a) Why not wood?
b) WPC has drawbacks (except that it’s very easy to clean – it feels like a plastic floor). For example, if you use hollow chamber boards, you have to screw the substructure tightly; otherwise, the boards will warp. It also looks somewhat “artificial.” I don’t like it at all (I have a side terrace made of WPC that I plan to remove for these reasons).

But yes, you can use WPC if you like that material 😉
