They could have used the countertop as a windowsill if they had planned for it and kept the height consistent.
Well, I would say it was not well planned. The appearance is of course a matter of personal taste, but the refrigerator was not integrated at all. And I think the concrete look will go out of style in just a few years, meaning the kitchen will need to be renovated again.
