Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Let me already say this: the next person who does that won't get my advice. Location-specific information is the most important thing when assessing a plot.

What do you mean by that? Almost everyone here blackens the street name and/or town name.
What relevance should that have for house planning?

The start of work on our garden has been postponed from today to Wednesday (which we can live with), but we did receive the first delivery today:

Construction crane lifting heavy concrete slabs onto a truck, site with stacked blocks, man watching.

Large concrete slabs and supports on pallets, construction equipment visible, man in green shirt in the background.

It reminds me a bit of the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin:

Construction site with stacked concrete slabs, green tension straps, wooden beams; red roof in the background.

Large gray concrete slabs stacked on pallets, green straps, passageway between them.

Well, it’s kind of strange – we want a beautiful garden, and first these giant concrete elements arrive. The association with "green" doesn’t come to mind at all…

@Pinkiponk will make it green for you in no time

I guess you mean the two pictures of the garage.

In pictures 6845 and 6847, there is oddly a "damp-proof course" inserted at about 70 cm (28 inches) height, which I am referring to.

Those with paranoia, yes. Those who want advice from people who can thoroughly read development plans, no.

Do you want an answer to a joke question?

One purpose of such a layer is indeed that. The walls were partially poured up to about hip height because of the fence. I suppose it was meant to even that out.

@11ant Well, anyone who doesn’t want to share their future address in a forum isn’t necessarily paranoid.

Exactly, it depends on what you want. For example, if you want to start a floor plan discussion, you can share site plans and maps of the area with sensitive information blacked out. For this kind of discussion, a (detailed) zoning plan isn’t necessarily required. From most of the discussions I’ve followed, the drawn plans and maybe one or two follow-up questions have been sufficient.

There may be cases where you really need to get into the “details,” but in my opinion, in most cases it works fine without that.

…so I don’t understand why this should be a trick question?
