You need 5 meters (16 feet) of space in front of the garage (left side) to park a car. To ensure that you can still drive the second vehicle in and out on the right side, you will need at least the same length of space in front again.
Since those who are less confident with maneuvering tend to drive smaller cars and usually prefer to drive straight in and out of the garage, the larger vehicle will likely need to be parked on the right.
If you plan to have a hedge or garbage bins on the right side of the driveway, it’s better to allow for some extra space.

I would allow about 6 to 7 m (20 to 23 feet) of driveway space in front of the garage here, taking into account the offset. Is the house floor plan already decided? If so, please share it here. Without knowing which rooms’ windows are affected, it’s difficult to speculate on the best way to shift the garage.

Why? Because then you would lose garden space? You actually have more than enough 🙂

I would move the garage as far down on the plan, meaning south, as possible, so you get a proper courtyard and a nice seating area at the house. The compost can then be placed behind the garage, so it is out of sight.

If the garage faces south, the house faces north. So, which option provides more garden space?

No, there isn’t anything yet. The house floor plan is still in the very first planning phase. For some topics, it also depends on the garage location.

Just as some dog owners are pulled along on a leash during a walk, you can of course give the house whatever the garage leaves over. But I already elaborated on that today:

For me, something completely different would have to go, namely something octagonal. Specifically this golden calf, the "garage passage," which is popular here on the one hand, but on the other hand a persistent little devil that constantly interferes with optimizing the floor plan; already at the fundamental level of the "layout of the building masses within the building plot."
