Ah, finally found an example like this and I can ask my question:
What’s so appealing about peeing while standing, knowing that everything around gets splattered (unless it’s a urinal)?
I just don’t get it... Maybe when you’re out and about, using public toilets where you don’t want to sit down, I can understand that. But at home???
(asks someone whose husband says he’s too lazy to pee standing up, sitting down is just much more comfortable)

I just don’t get it… Maybe when you’re out and about, using unfamiliar toilets where you don’t want to sit down, I can understand that. But at home???
(asks someone whose husband says he’s too lazy to pee standing up, sitting down is much more comfortable) It’s much faster than pulling down your pants and sitting… Besides, it tempts me to stay seated longer (the man’s throne and all that 🙂 ).
And if that’s not enough, then the answer has to be: “Because it’s always been that way” 🙂

Well, you’re definitely putting a lot of thought into this 😎… the walls are the same height there as by the washbasin ;-) It just looks more consistent to me.
There’s no woman left in the house… Apart from that, I had to make many decisions on my own at that time anyway, just so a decision could be made. By the way, no one here urinates standing up, and I don’t use a pressure washer either ^^
Considering the slope, I don’t think 10sqm (108 sq ft) is too big; the shower has to have its space as well.

At home, I also only pee sitting down. When I’m out, whenever there is a urinal available, I use it standing. I feel like it’s easier and faster that way. Without a urinal, I only go standing if the place does not seem to be cleaned regularly.
