Hello everyone,

I have the following issue:

We are currently planning to renovate/refurbish all the windows in our old building, but we want to make our windows as burglar-resistant as possible (due to a past break-in). Do you have any tips or know of reliable companies that specialize in this? So far, we haven’t found any trustworthy firms.

Thank you in advance!

Manuel

Thank you all very much for your numerous responses.

I immediately contacted the police and found out some useful information.

Additionally, I found a company very close to me that gave me really good advice. They will now install my new windows!

Thank you for your help!

WK5 windows and additionally the FeBa clamp. I will also have roller shutters installed with lift protection. Better safe than sorry :-(.. I will share my experiences with you!

So, what useful information did you find out there?
I live by the motto that if someone wants to break in, they will manage it regardless of whether the windows are burglar-resistant.
For example, abroad I had bars installed on the windows, as it makes it much harder to break in quietly and quickly (which was necessary since we are only there once a year; otherwise, the place stands empty).

No window is completely burglar-proof, but some windows make break-ins much more difficult. During our home renovation, we installed sturdy windows with burglar-resistant locking mechanisms. We also have video surveillance. I feel safer, but I am aware that burglars know many methods to achieve their goals.

Hi Manuel,
that’s a good approach. Getting advice from the police can be really helpful. I know a reliable company from southern Germany, but that’s no longer relevant.

What I can recommend are windows with integrated ventilation. These windows meet high security standards, making it difficult for unwanted visitors to break into the house. The ventilation is controlled by sensors and can be adjusted at any time. This also eliminates the need for manual airing.
