Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Is a supply temperature of 30 degrees Celsius (86°F) considered up to date?

In my opinion, absolutely! As usual, you will find many opinions. The supply temperature alone is not the only factor. But 30 degrees Celsius (86°F) is, in my view, very good. (The enthusiasts will now say that in a super-insulated house even 28 degrees Celsius (82°F) is possible, but I don’t think that’s necessary.)

Yes. I'm still not sure whether I should regret it or not. Electric ones were too expensive for us. We tested electric blinds at friends’ place, but I somehow found them "too slow," which probably sounds silly.

I find the blinds slow, but in my opinion, the roller shades are fine.
I thought electric roller shades were standard by now.

It was just a question without any judgment. Some people simply prefer it a bit shadier.
We actually do, we’re complete nerds and don’t need the house to be very sunny. Besides, we also like it cool.
However, the photo isn’t really representative. On that day, the sun was shining directly through the windows, and my phone has an automatic exposure adjustment. The room is actually normally bright, but the phone slightly underexposed the picture so more details can be seen.

Okay. I don’t find the pull-down blinds that bad. Electric ones are more of a nice-to-have than a must-have. But I understand the doubts. We’re not even in the detailed planning phase yet and are already worried about making the wrong choices or plans.

Well, you usually don’t stand next to them while they’re closing. I just press the button and the device closes by itself – in the meantime, I can already do something else. Compared directly, the electric operation is slower than letting the blinds down by the strap quickly. But if I compare pressing a button once versus lowering it manually, the electric option is faster.

From a certain size onwards, our window specialist always recommended electric operation. Also, at my parents’ place, who originally had a large window with a regular blind operated by a strap, the window was upgraded with an electric system during renovation.
