Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out.

Do you have manual straps for that?

Yes. I'm still not sure whether I should regret it or not. Electric ones were too expensive for us. We tested electric straps at friends' places, and somehow I found them "too slow," which probably sounds silly.

Exactly, it's really a matter of price. Either manual strap or electric... Using a crank is just nonsense.

A sudden appearance of "screed." It’s super effective!
Basically, the previous discussion was already somewhat pointless. We only had a short time one afternoon to go and check out the in-floor heating pipes. The plan was for the screed to be installed immediately after the underfloor heating was completed, so one day later. We had hoped to catch the underfloor heating company and also take a look upstairs, but unfortunately our timing was off—they were already finished when we arrived.
At first, our timing was better, but now, for the third time in a row, we arrived on site and nobody was there. Something always happens. It’s as if house elves are at work.
When I posted photos of the heating pipes, the screed was probably already poured or in the process of being poured.

We’ll see—the first winter will tell. I’m still optimistic. I have plenty of time to get annoyed about shoddy workmanship if there really is any. Doing that beforehand is just bad for my blood pressure.

No one mentioned shoddy workmanship; the discussion was only about optimal efficiency.

What do you mean by crank? I don’t think that was even offered to us^^
