Hello everyone,

My planner is asking for an additional 2400 EUR to have the windows finished in anthracite on the outside. Is this a realistic amount? These are Weru uPVC windows with triple glazing.

Here is a list of the windows (width x height):
6x double windows D DK 1.76m x 1.26m (5.8 ft x 4.1 ft)
6x floor-to-ceiling windows DK 1.13m x 2.26m (3.7 ft x 7.4 ft)
1x floor-to-ceiling double window D DK 1.76m x 2.26m (5.8 ft x 7.4 ft)
3x windows DK 1.01m x 1.26m (3.3 ft x 4.1 ft)

What would these windows cost in the standard all-white version, and what do you estimate as an additional cost for the special anthracite color on the exterior?

Then we were probably very lucky with the price. We had to pay an extra 800 euros. Our windows are anthracite laminated on the outside and white on the inside.

Is the laminate textured as well?

Yes.

We had initially considered giving our house a colored exterior paint. That would have cost €2,000. The additional cost for the windows was cheaper for us.

I didn’t like a white house with white windows.

What is usually more expensive: anthracite both inside and outside, or leaving the exterior and interior white?

Regarding plastic windows, I would say that the less film needs to be applied, the cheaper it is. Consequently, white on the inside should be cheaper since the plastic is white and does not require any film application.

For us, the additional cost for an exterior aluminum cladding in DB703 iron mica was just under €2000 for a total of 17 windows, of which 4 are floor-to-ceiling. A foil finish would have been just over €1000. However, this was arranged through direct individual contracting with the manufacturer.

Wow, sometimes the costs can be surprising... in our case:
6 single windows
1 triple window
4 floor-to-ceiling double doors
1 door with a sidelight

So, a total of 12 units with 19 glass panes.

Exterior finished with RAL Anthracite foil for around 600 euros (about 640 USD) (compared to white/white).

I think this shows where the general contractor adds their margin.
