Hello everyone,
My girlfriend and I are currently planning a new kitchen at IKEA.
After reading a lot here, many people have chosen a different dishwasher than the one from IKEA, which makes installation quite difficult.
[List:9yql848c]Can someone tell me why you do this?
What advantages does it have?
What about the current machines that IKEA offers—aren’t they good enough (5-year warranty)?[/List:u:9yql848c]
We would consider the Rengöra, Skinande, or Välgjord models.
I’m curious why you decided against these products—are they not that great?
Thanks in advance.

NoniundNene26 Sep 2016 12:31Hello Lightcord,
I’m not an expert, but I’m currently dealing with the same topic and wanted to quickly share some thoughts on your question.
We also decided against an IKEA dishwasher because the reviews put me off, as the IKEA expert here already mentioned! For me, the main reason against an IKEA appliance was definitely the price.
Take a look at Idealo.de for your preferred model, and you’ll be surprised thinking, "Why should I choose an IKEA ‘no-name’ model (I know, they are all well-known manufacturers, but you just don’t know which one) when I can get a Siemens model for the same price?"
I had a Miele dishwasher for years, and when I moved into a rented apartment with an IKEA dishwasher, it really wasn’t a comparison! Of course, other opinions may vary.
When choosing a dishwasher, make sure to go for an XXL model with a variobending hinge, as that allows installation into a Metod cabinet. For example, we chose this model: Siemens SX76P030EU, which cost us 300€ (about $320) and is also energy class A.
Best regards

lightcord26 Sep 2016 16:52Hello NoniundNene,
thank you very much for your reply.
Where exactly did you get the SX76P030EU for 300 EUR?
Idealo shows the lowest price as 450 EUR.
Could you share your source with me?
Then I would certainly be interested as well.

lightcord26 Sep 2016 16:57Could you please post photos of the front and the opening of the dishwasher here? Did you simply choose the 80cm (31.5 inches) front panel, or do you need to order something additional?

NoniundNene26 Sep 2016 20:23I just saw it on Idealo! The best option is to set a price alert there, so you receive an email when the desired price is reached, and then you need to act quickly.
I just checked the price trend again – and for that model, you're in luck because with a little patience, you should be able to get it cheaper again soon! That’s what we did and ordered it through Crowdfox (they were the cheapest seller).

Alexander661217 Sep 2018 09:58Personally, I don’t mind if the dishwasher is branded Mercedes or Dacia. What matters to me is that the appliance works reliably, doesn’t break down constantly, doesn’t allow water to flow back (water trap), doesn’t start the pump when it’s not running, and that I don’t have to spend several days of my vacation waiting for a technician... at least our Välgjord has delivered on that. For me, IKEA appliances are no longer an option. What good is a five-year warranty if I have to spend my vacation dealing with service technicians and end up going to a local retailer just to finally have a household appliance that does what it’s supposed to do…
We have had Skinande for about a year now, and everything is fine. It flushes, that it does. What else should it be able to do? I don’t expect it to play the piano. It just flushes day after day; otherwise, I ignore it, and if it ever fails, so what, then I just get a new one. I don’t have much repaired on it.
