Hello, have you already tensioned the dishwasher door spring to its maximum?

IKEA-Experte12 Feb 2015 13:18Could the Stefan solution work for your dishwasher? See the thread on dishwasher fronts.
Metod cabinets are significantly deeper than those from traditional kitchen manufacturers, so it is somewhat surprising if the appliance doesn’t fit far enough into the niche. Are there perhaps hoses stacked between the wall and the dishwasher?

FlowinBeatz12 Feb 2015 14:25I have already checked that, but it was quite clear that the dishwasher (Siemens SN65V096EU, dimensions 55 x 59.8 x 81.5 cm (21.7 x 23.5 x 32.1 inches)) is already touching the wall at the back.
I will look into the "Stefan solution," thanks!

IKEA-Experte12 Feb 2015 15:13Something is wrong with the depth. Siemens specifies a minimum niche depth of 55 cm (22 inches), while METOD requires 59 to 60 cm (23 to 24 inches). The filling panel would need to be more than 4 to 5 cm (1.5 to 2 inches) thick for the front to protrude. There must be something blocking it.

andre_at_ikeafans3 Mar 2015 14:51Hello,
I have exactly the same problem. I just removed the front (with Nodsta) because it keeps popping out of the hinge, or the adjustment wheel can’t hold the weight.
Calling the Ikea hotline is pointless since you can’t get through. They probably wouldn’t help anyway and would just suggest a replacement.
Have you found a solution by now?
Best regards,
André

Sektionschef3 Mar 2015 19:44You have a split front panel on the dishwasher door. Couldn't you temporarily remove one part of the front panel or replace it with something lighter to reduce about 400g (0.9 lbs) and test how the door hinge behaves then?
Best regards

FlowinBeatz3 Mar 2015 22:49A Siemens technician recently came to my place because our dishwasher was malfunctioning. He had to pull it out, and it turned out there was a plastic piece still attached to the dishwasher at the back, which is meant for transporting the hoses and should be removed afterwards.
That caused some trouble. Since then, the dishwasher fits 2cm (about 1 inch) deeper under the countertop, and the door closes properly.
Since then, the door clips no longer jump off their mounts.
However, the adjustment knobs, which are apparently made of plastic (nowadays?), seem to have worn out to the point where they no longer support the weight of the door. They just move all the way down to the stop. Ideally, the door would fit perfectly when the mounts are adjusted to the highest position using these knobs.
I’m still considering whether to have IKEA replace the part or simply attach the mount 1cm (about 0.4 inch) higher on the adjacent cabinets.
What I also read in one of the posts here on the forum is that the mounts really have to be perfectly aligned opposite each other. Even the slightest axial misalignment can cause the mounts to come off.
Unfortunately, I haven’t found any clever trick to prevent this effectively.
Good luck with your search!!!!
