We have two electrical outlets on the front panel of the cooktop on the "peninsula" plus some additional ones on the wall.
What disadvantages are supposed to come with having an outlet on the island? On the island, I have one more obstacle when cleaning, one more cutout that depending on the countertop may also incur additional costs, and it might not bother everyone, but I lose the uninterrupted look.
However, for me, having outlets is absolutely necessary and not up for discussion.
