@Schimi1791 The rod is hung too high for children. They can’t reach it.

...The (shoe) cabinet is on the other side 😉 By exception, there is a pair of my shoes there because my wife put them there (so I should wear my shoes again once in a while...).

Did you just move in?

I wouldn’t put the chair in front either, ...I could move the chair away. I can’t even use it anyway... 😎

I know the problem. For the stacked washer and dryer in our condominium, we bought a really expensive pull-out shelf specifically so we could place laundry from the dryer on it until everything is folded and put away. Guess what ends up on it? Laundry is the smallest part, and when it is laundry, it’s usually from the previous wash cycle.
The sofa is always covered with jackets, scarves, and who knows what else. And we have hooks and hangers.
Since I have a family now, I don’t want a kitchen island anymore. I simply don’t see the point. It’s definitely not a useful work surface. We men really have to suffer... 🙁 🙄
But we love our wives and children... 😀
I’d like to share a picture of the house, if that’s alright with you. 😉

The boards at the roof edge will still be painted anthracite. On the right side of the gable, it looks like they’ve already tried it out. The gable is already at the desired state. Some fool painted the boards white on purpose. Then the remaining roof tiles and gutters will be installed.
Solar panels with 5kWp on each side (east/west) were also installed yesterday.
After a month of delay due to the weather, construction is finally moving forward again. The bricks have already been sorted. I’m really excited to see how the house’s appearance will change!

Whoops... in that case, I’d suggest making that corner more livable. Areas that just look like storage tend to be less cared for than corners designed to be cozy and inviting 🙂Should I bring this up with my wife? (Hopefully, I won’t get grounded... or worse... no more food 😱 )

Very nice house, but I’m not sure if it looks better with the brick cladding.
Feel free to convince me!
