Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Maybe it is clearer here

now I see it more as poorly installed painter's fleece 😳

No, you can come over, I was there in person during the gluing. The joints were sealed.
What you see is the paint, which apparently wasn’t applied evenly, and that’s now visible.
I don’t think a photo can really capture it well; in person, the ceiling is as smooth as a baby’s bottom... but blotchy.

Ok. I’m just surprised by this parallel pattern. It’s actually hard to achieve with a roller.

When you stand underneath, it’s not completely parallel; maybe the pictures are a bit misleading. It looks different in person and is difficult to photograph.
You can see how much the roller has worn down.

I appreciate your trust in the craftsman and don’t want to doubt that. It will probably be done correctly….

What surprises me, however, is that if the roller leaves marks, there must be something wrong with the technique. In my opinion, this kind of effect should be avoidable through the painting method (cross-hatch technique) or by properly thinning the paint.
“Poor-quality paints” are bad because they either don’t provide good coverage or they yellow over time. It doesn’t quite make sense to me that a paint would cause streaks simply because it is low quality…

… let’s hope for the best 🙂
