Hello,

I can’t decide which color the kitchen sofa should be. So, I’m just asking the group: which color would appeal to you for a kitchen sofa?

The kitchen has a lot of wood: oak flooring, a light oak table, and an oak countertop on a matte black kitchen. The kitchen takes up a lot of space. The entire room will get a lot of light (east-facing window 4.5m (15 feet) wide in a room 5.5m (18 feet) wide).
The rest of the kitchen has no color. Walls are white, I have no accessories, and no colored towels either. The kitchen backsplash will be tiled in black.

I was about to order “yellow,” but hesitated at the last moment. Now I’m curious to hear what you think.

The question may sound silly, but it is serious.
What is a kitchen sofa?
Sure, probably a sofa in the kitchen, but what is a sofa in the kitchen used for?
Probably obvious as well, to sit on.
But maybe it’s still clear what I mean...

😀
warm - warm - warmer - hot! 😀 Yes, you are quite right; a kitchen sofa is a sofa that you place at a dining table instead of chairs. The seat height is at a standard dining level so you can sit comfortably at the table, and it is also somewhat shorter than usual sofas. But after eating, you can easily lounge around. 😀

I am a "table sitter" and usually only sit on the main sofa in the evening. When I have guests, I always sit at the kitchen table. My living room will be on the upper floor, so I would like to have a comfy spot to lounge and read. Due to space limitations, there is no room for an armchair in the combined kitchen and dining area. That makes the kitchen sofa a great solution.
It does have drawbacks (you have to squeeze past the table leg to get onto the sofa, and stains are a bit harder to remove) but also advantages (cozy, inviting, a splash of color in the room).

A kitchen sofa is simply wonderful and a comfortable seating furniture at chair height, so you can sit well at the table.

@Bertram100 .. just out of curiosity ... what is your favorite color? Which colors do you always find yourself drawn to?

About yellow. I think yellow is the most beautiful color of all.

@kbt09 I got the kitchen sofa idea from you. Back then, I wasn’t really ready for it, but now I’m looking forward to it. I've thought a few times about how excited you were when you talked about it back then. 🙂

@Bertram100 ... you know, I’ve also had my kitchen sofa for over 10 years now, exactly for the reasons you mentioned. Yes, the issue with squeezing past it is annoying. That’s why I’m still looking for the “ideal” table, at least for use with two people on the sofa. Right now, I’m considering the Girado from Team 7. It has a slightly oval shape, and the backrests on my kitchen sofa can be adjusted to a reclined position. That would be sufficient.
