Hello,

The total width of the base cabinets, including the dishwasher, is 320 cm (126 inches).

I have also ordered my countertop today in 320 cm (126 inches) because the 60 cm (24 inches) tall cabinet is supposed to go next to it.

I am now worried that on the far left by the wall, there might be a gap of about 0.5 to 1.0 cm (0.2 to 0.4 inches) if I can’t fit the dishwasher into a 60 cm (24 inches) wide niche.

Do you have any ideas on how to cleverly and neatly cover a small gap between the wall and the countertop?

Regards,
Chris

Hello Chris,

there are different options...
I installed a glass niche covering, it looks good, acts as a splash guard, hides the old tiles, and also covers any small gaps on the left, right, and back sides.

Hello Robi,

I have already ordered something like this for the back. It could also be done on the left and right sides.

However, from the front, the thickness of the countertop (front edge) will create a gap at the edge.

From the front (the 38mm (1.5 inch) thick board) it still doesn’t sit completely flush.

I sealed and filled the edges with silicone. You can get it in many colors.

If everything is installed straight, the dishwasher will fit into a 60 cm (24 inch) wide gap. Don’t worry too much about problems that don’t exist.

1 cm (0.4 inches) gap on the left side.

I will fill this with silicone and then install the side glass panel on top. After that, I will seal the joint with silicone. It probably won’t be visible afterwards.
