Hello everyone,

can someone tell me what an oak countertop should cost?
We have about 6 meters (20 feet) to 7 meters (23 feet) of countertop, and this comes to around EUR 3,500, which I consider to be quite expensive.

That sounds about right.
I asked about a similar length back in 1999, and it was 3000 DM.
Nowadays, you can almost always use the same amount in euros 😉

Last year, I paid about €300 for 3m (40mm (1.6 inches) thick and 72cm (28 inches) deep - solid). However, I didn’t buy it from a kitchen supplier. Just google Worktop Express. No idea if they deliver 6m lengths as well...

Otherwise, try asking local timber suppliers if they also sell something like this. For the piece of wood, it doesn’t matter whether it ends up in the kitchen or is used for a piece of furniture. Just because it’s sold as a kitchen countertop, it can sometimes be expensive…

I only know the prices for a washbasin unit, oak, 1.70 meters (5 ft 7 in) long and 50 centimeters (20 inches) deep, around 300.-
