Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Of course, I took the photos before the protective covering was applied; now it is fully wrapped.

What will go on the open side? Glass?

No, not glass. We will have a stainless steel railing made of flat steel, 5cm (2 inches) wide, with three horizontal flat steel bars.

It should look something like this:

Modern wooden staircase with glass and metal railing in a bright interior.

That looks very good. But is it also comfortable to grip? I don’t really like it when the metal cuts into your skin.

Make sure everything is dry enough when moving in so quickly... Friends installed the kitchen very fast and then found mold behind it because it wasn’t dry enough.

You’re lucky. Our exposed concrete staircase was already installed during the shell construction phase and has been wrapped up since delivery. We haven’t been able to see more than one staircase side panel so far.

That’s also our plan, but we are still a bit hesitant because of the kids. It basically acts as a climbing aid, and outside detached single-family houses such a design would be prohibited. We also need to fit a balustrade on the upper floor, not just the stair railing.

How much does your railing cost per meter?
