It’s true that this is not exactly an aesthetic feature. But it wasn’t completely unclear to us either, and it creates a dead corner that you don’t notice at all yourself.
Does this mean that the bay window was not important to you at all, and you just wanted more width on the ground floor at that spot compared to the upper floor?

So, the excavation is finished!
They really clean up the construction site nicely every day...
It looks like a huge house now, but more was dug up to install the sewer line; the two sewer pipes will go opposite the white tarp (from the existing building and ours). Fortunately, we are allowed to use the same already existing inspection chamber.
The existing building will also get a new sewer line because the current one would otherwise run underneath our house.
