Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Plaster residue was removed from the unfortunately broken cellar arch.
It is marked with 1601. It will be reassembled as much as possible.

I think it’s a great alternative to wooden floorboards if you like the wood look but don’t want real wood because of kids and daily cleaning, and plastic-based options like laminate are not suitable. I clean twice a day, which wouldn’t work with wood. So cork was also ruled out.
Also, we have 5 to 10 children in the house every day. I don’t want to constantly have to remind them to be careful with the floor. And regular tiles would feel too cold visually for the living areas.
Oh, just to explain, we are installing the wood-look tiles throughout the entire upper floor because I want only one type of flooring there.

But in the end, it doesn’t really matter. We really love the tiles, and that’s what counts.

Müllerin, the paving looks fantastic!

Wow, so many new pictures!

For example, I don’t like tiled stairs; I always associate them with a stairwell.

@Müllerin Paving stones look good, the tiles are not my taste either, but I would say they are well installed.

We didn’t want the usual dull gray or anthracite paving that everyone has. I was a bit worried it might look too colorful next to the brickwork, but it actually fits very well. They also installed it neatly.

As for the tiles – well, I knew from the start that they wouldn’t appeal to everyone *g
We didn’t want beige-brown or gray-white. I wanted a blue bathroom. The series also had a few other colors, so we chose green as well. Once the furniture is in, it won’t stand out that much anyway.
The tiler was very meticulous, so I hope the bathroom will turn out just as well. He was also happy to finally work with some colorful tiles.

Here is another progress update from us. The exterior plaster is now applied, the tiler has finished the guest bathroom and the kids' bathroom, only the grouting is missing. Sanitary fixtures are arriving next week, as well as the daylight spotlights.
The master bathroom is still waiting for the bathtub. In two weeks, we have the house handover. After that, the tiler just needs to finish the remaining floors and the painter the walls. The kitchen will be installed on October 15, and then we will move in.

I understand the confusion about our construction better and better...

In other regions, the exterior plaster is actually applied much earlier than here. Inside, tilers, painters, carpenters, etc. are already done, but the exterior plaster isn’t even visible yet...

Interesting to see the different sequences!

All beautiful pictures here!
