You’re absolutely right, it does get dirty pretty quickly—faster than I expected.
So we will probably need to do something about it. So far, it only has regular paint on it, and after 2 months you can already see clear signs of wear.

I’m hesitant about using a protective coating like “elephant skin,” because I’m afraid it might end up looking quite glossy.

I would add a cover on top of the "handrail." Additionally, I find the sections without a railing very dangerous, especially for small children and elderly people. The stairwell walls also won’t stay so clean for long.

Otherwise, I like the combination with the wood.

There is a glass panel on the "handrails," similar to the window sills.
We deliberately decided not to install railings. If it ever becomes necessary, they can be easily added later.

Which manufacturer are the windows and doors from?
( They have very slim frames, or is it just how it appears?)

What is your ceiling height? (measured)

I think this staircase looks absolutely fantastic! However, I would never feel comfortable walking on it like that. Everyone can twist an ankle sometimes – and then there’s no handrail to hold onto. I find that almost reckless, even without children. But of course, everyone has to decide for themselves. As I said, it looks top-notch visually, but is that enough?
