ᐅ Closet under the stairs or small storage room

Hello everyone,

My partner and I are starting construction on our (hopefully) dream home at the beginning of next year. We are quite satisfied with the floor plan now, but we’re unsure how to best use the space under the stairs. Our initial idea was to have a door on the ground floor to use the area as a small storage room. (I hope this is clear in the floor plan.)

Looking on Pinterest, I’ve seen that many have built a built-in wardrobe under the stairs. What do you think makes more sense? Does anyone have something similar?
We like both options, so now we’re having a hard time deciding...

Yes, that is exactly how I had imagined it. Especially the way the cloakroom discreetly fits under the staircase, I find very nice.

I think a wardrobe is also a nice solution for a coat storage area and it creates a more open feel. We use the space under the stairs as a pantry accessible from the kitchen. Shelves or cabinets were not an option for us there.

We have already planned a pantry behind the kitchen; otherwise, that would have been a great idea!
