attached is our first draft of the ground floor layout....
I would be very grateful to receive some honest opinions or suggestions for improvement.
This is just a rough plan for now....
A brief note:
- behind the entrance door, the first wall is intended to form the vestibule;
- to the left of the vestibule (in front of the guest bathroom) we are not planning a door, but an archway to install a coat rack on the upper wall
- the fireplace is planned for the upper right corner of the kitchen (of course in the living/dining area as a corner fireplace)
- the half-landing staircase will be located in the left part of the hallway
Thank you very much in advance

Although both the kitchen and the entrance hallway/wardrobe area are a disaster.
The kitchen is unusable. Is there supposed to be a dining area there? Why is there so much open space? In the kitchen, you have almost no countertop space and very little storage.
How wide are the kitchen and dining area? If the house has a footprint of about 10 x 10 meters (33 x 33 feet), it will be very cramped. Where is the staircase?
I can’t find anything appealing in the floor plan. I would rely on the architect. Explain your wishes to them and let the professional handle it. If it doesn’t work out, start over.
We also made our own drafts, but in the end our architect prevailed, and now that the house is built, every corner works perfectly. The house simply functions well.

The right wall of the kitchen is completely free for cabinets... This was just a rough initial sketch... We still have the pantry for additional storage.

Right now, the focus is mainly on the floor plan. The room sizes will be finalized by the architect... The staircase is located in the hallway at the top right.
What exactly is the problem with the cloakroom/vestibule area? Why is it considered a disaster?

If you draw doors instead of open passages in the cloakroom/entrance hall, you will soon realize why this is a disaster.
You also have to go through the entrance hall every time to reach the bathroom.
If, as shown, only open passages are planned, you don’t need an entrance hall.
The staircase is crucial for the floor plan. Without measurements, no one can say whether the space is large enough. I suspect the space is too narrow, which would cause the entire layout to fall apart. The hallway will probably end up being a dark, cramped area.
The 2m² (22 sq ft) in front of the pantry is completely wasted. The pantry itself will hardly be functional like that. The door should rather be on the long side of the pantry.
You should also include the chimney and fireplace in the plan to check if there is enough space.
Hallway doors are illogical as well—sometimes opening inward, sometimes outward.
Additionally, it doesn’t make sense to draw the ground floor and upper floor separately. Due to the chimney, staircase, utility lines, and elevations, these must be shown together.
Is there a basement? Otherwise, where is the utility room?
Where is north?
Are the windows at the top left and right windows or floor-to-ceiling windows?
What is the purpose of the bay window at the back? It currently looks like expensive, unused space.
