Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Black ice on sloped surfaces is not an issue? Especially if it was designed for people using walkers? Hmm.
The heating system is interesting, since the material costs almost nothing. I would be interested in a user review.

With stair steps, ice is just as much of a problem. It always is, and in SH it occurs on a maximum of about 5 days out of 365. Salt on it, and you’re done. Life is never perfect. There’s always something. Karsten

I installed 160 meters (525 feet) of pipe-tracing heating cables in the gravel bed beneath the driveway.

Heating cables accompany which pipe???

Around 4:00 PM something happens. The locks are changed. Construction locks removed, construction keys handed in, apartment keys received. Keys truly ready in every sense of the word. Remaining work today: shortening one door slightly, fitting a door with a glass pane. Installing RegelAir window sash vents. Gluing a trim strip to cover flaws. Adjusting windows and doors. Cleaning up. Leaving the site. Construction is complete.

Over the weekend, the remaining vinyl flooring will be glued down with my brother, and the baseboards will be installed. Then the final cleaning. Moving in.

Yes, the weekend did it.

How is the glass pane installed afterwards?
What is a "Pfuschleiste"?

And otherwise, were there many defects or did everything go smoothly?
How long did it take?

Glass pane apparently added later. Living room door with glass insert.
A cover strip hides an inaccuracy. Over it and gone. Out of sight, out of mind.
Defects? Fixable with cover strips. Otherwise, everything almost good. Wall plaster slightly uneven. But manageable. Deal. Meiko extractor and RegelAir 1100,- free of charge, so we overlook that.
Construction period mid-March until today. Karsten
