ᐅ Paving right up to the door – how to finish it?

Hi,

I am planning to pave a small terrace soon.
Around the edges, I will set differently colored concrete paving stones as border stones.
Next to the house wall, I will leave a 15cm (6 inch) gap for a gravel strip (splash guard and frost protection).

Where the door is located, of course, I don’t want to continue the gravel strip. Instead, I want the border stones to turn 90° against the house wall and pave the area in front of the door right up to the wall.

Now I’m wondering what I need to do and what is possible here.
The plaster along the entire length is sealed (I can’t say exactly how, but it’s a reddish, presumably thick coat). There is no dimpled membrane (drainage sheet) installed.

Is it okay to lay the paving (only at the width of the door) directly up to the house wall and fill the joint with sharp sand or fine gravel?
Or does it have to be handled differently?

Side question:
Since there is no dimpled membrane, is this a poor condition for filling the splash guard layer with gravel? I still have enough dimpled membrane left and could easily install a strip beforehand.

Maybe you could take a picture of the situation (?)

Textually, my idea so far is that the paving is roughly level with the floor, without one or two steps difference (?)

please

yes, no step.

in case the question was unclear, here is another attempt:

how do you pave right up to the house wall?
- with a thick coat up to almost the top of the paving (3cm (1¼ inches) less, because no additional coat is possible)
- a dimpled membrane between the paving and the wall, trimmed closely

the thickness of the dimpled membrane now leaves a gap between the paving and the house wall
-> just cover with gravel and that’s fine?
-> I would rather not anchor an aluminum profile into the wall.
-> concrete it on?

thanks.

here is a picture as well.

Leave a 2cm (1 inch) gap, fill it with gravel, and that’s sufficient.

From the photo, I would say that the planned surface covering should possibly be installed all the way into the door opening. With paving, this might result in a height that is too high.

Studded membrane against the exterior wall, paving up to the membrane, then cut flush with it
